Baseball Blurbs: 6-21

Here are your blurbs from last night.

Colorado 8 Cleveland 7

Carmona: tossing out BP like it ain't no thing

Fausto Carmona is getting SHELLED. 7 ER in 5 IP. 6 of them in the 5th. Getting bombed by a Jason Giambi 440 foot mash. 1-5 with a 9.73 ERA since May 19th. If this guy is the ace, someone please explain how this team is in first.

Baltimore 8 Pittsburgh 3

Who the hell is Jake Arrieta?

Sabathia. Verlander. Weaver. Lester. And Baltimore's Jake Arrieta. What do they have in common? They all have 9 wins. Yes...even Arrieta...who has an ERA of 4.50. Why? Because the O's are averaging 6.5 runs a game when he starts. Bet King Felix wishes he could get that kind of support.

Atlanta 2 Toronto 0

Tim Hudson doing it all himself

Hudson pitched 8 scoreless innings, retiring 20 in a row at one point, with eight strikeouts. And despite batting only .040 on the season, he yakked a game winning 2 run shot in the seventh inning. Complete with a 29 second trot around the bags. Not bad bro. That's some Pablo Sanchez-esque stuff right there.

Boston 14 San Diego 5

Another day...another 200 Red Sox runs

The Bosox continue to wreck and ruin the opposition. 10 runs in the seventh. And they only needed 5 hits. San Diego hit two guys and walked another with the bases loaded in that inning to aid the Boston bash. Adrian Gonzalez is batting .535 (.353) with 143 RBI (67).

LA Angels 2 Florida 1

The Marlins season in a nutshell

See this link.
11 Straight losses and 1-19 in June. Someone's gotta take this horse out back and put it out of its misery. Glue factory time.

NY Yankees 5 Cincinnati 3

Yankees Hot

They've won 9 of 11 and are a season best 12 games over .500. But its only good for only second place. I wonder why?

ChiCubs 6 ChiSox 3

Zambrano didn't lose his sh*t. But don't worry...Guillen did!

Carlos Zambrano gave up three early runs. Unlike last year at US Cellular field, he didn't go 5-year-old mode and and freak out like a psychopath. Luckily for everyone in attendance, Ozzie Guillen did...making a game between two terrible teams actually entertaining! Classic Ozzie. Enjoy.

Texas 8 Houston 3

Houston: We have many Problems Volume 1

J.A. Happ. 5 Straight losses. 7 runs (5 earned) in 2 and 2/3. I wonder what volume 2 will bring tomorrow.

Tampa Bay 8 Milwaukee 4

Niemann sharp in return

Tampa Bay's Jeff Niemann threw six scoreless in his first start back from the DL with 5 Ks. The Rays might not have the offense of Boston or New York, but with this guy back in the rotation, they have a starting five that rivals the two. Don't count these guys out in the AL East.

LA Dodgers 4 Detroit 0

Kershaw Crushing

LA's Clayton Kershaw had a 2 hit complete game with 11 Ks. That makes him 5-0 with a 2.73 ERA in his last 10 starts. Decent.
